I purchased this oscillating tower heater at Walmart on the first chilly day of fall. I own a 100 year old farm house that gets extremely drafty, and a furnace that tries to no avail to compensate.

After comparing the large selection of heaters I chose the aloha breeze tower because of its safety shut off feature, small frontal opening and affordable price tag of $35. I have 6 small children and feared little fingers becoming burned or a house fire if I walked away from the unit. The outside of this model is cool to the touch, except where the heat itself is coming from.

The heater has been a wonderful addition to our seasonal appliances. It features a heating and cooling mode. It doesn’t kick out enough heat on the LOW mode so I keep it on HIGH. I would not recommend this heater for use in summer for its COOL setting. It simply doesn’t put out enough power on its cool fan setting.

It features a SWING mode that can also be disabled for a steady straight line heating path. The shut off feature has been tested many times, and works wonderfully. If knocked over or lifted it shuts off to avoid a fire hazard.

The front panel features a adjustment tab to aim the heat flow up down or straight. A blessing when I need warm feet while typing on the computer. The front panel itself has a safety grid that prevents instant burn(the grid is made from a plastic)and the openings themselves are small. The feature buttons are all molded into the model so its very easy to clean and push. This model comes with a remote, and a remote storage bin located on the top of the unit. I haven’t used the remote yet so I can’t rate the remotes capabilities.

Its design makes it easy to store in a corner, under a desk or out in view. It heats up our living room within a half hour and helps keep the draft at bay.

This model does feature a timer mode to keep the heater on for a half hour up to 4 hours. I wouldn’t recommend this model for full house heating,or for extended periods of time. I would recommend for use up to the 4 hour maximum on its timer or for shorter intervals for morning chill or at evening time. Our family uses this model in the early mornings while getting ready for school and for movie time at night.

For its reasonable price,safety features and overall performance I rate this heater at a 8 out of 10.
