After getting a new job recently and being a little chilly in the office I decided to go on the hunt for a heater. I did some check on the internet, of course with epinions and then on eBay and found the heater I wanted to go with. Since I did not want to spend $100 on this heater at a store I told myself to be patient and pick one up off of eBay. So the bidding began.
I finally won one and have had it in my office since. The Bionaire BH3900 is a console (radiator-looking) heater and does not need oil or water it is completely electric. It has great looks to it as it is a greyish-silver color and looks nice in an office atmosphere. The wheels on the bottom make it easy to move if need be.
The heater uses natural convection heat to draw cool air in and push warm air out but does not use a fan. This is one of the important parts to me. Since I wanted something silent, this is the ticket. In fact, I expected to be able to at least hear that the heater was on once to turn the dial, but mine makes absolutely NO noise. The heater has heat-panel filaments in it and they warm up and hold their temperature and then heat the air around them sending the warm air into the room and making room for cold air to come in and the process just keep going on.
The heater has a built-in overheat protection device which will automatically shut off the power when the heater’s internal temperature becomes too hot. It will then not power back on until the user resets the heater, but don’t worry to reset it all you have to do is leave it unplugged for 10 minutes.
There is very little assembly which only requires a Phillips head screwdriver or a slotted head screwdriver when putting the caster wheels together to put on the base of the heater. There is a carry handle on the front of the heater if you need to take it for a little walk or move it farther than you want to push. It is not very heavy to carry, at least for me and I by no means work out regularly. There is also a nice convenient storage compartment for the cord when the heater is not in use very handy when moving the unit.
There are two Modes: Low - 500 Watts and High - 1500 Watts and also a Thermostat Knob to kind of tell you how warm you would like to keep it. The power light will remain lit while the heater is in operation.
One other nice feature of the heater is that the heater is not burning hot to the touch. I can put my hand on the top of the heater with it on High and thermostat up all the way and it will not burn me. It may if I leave my hand there for more than 10 seconds but not just brushing up or accidently touching it.
Bionaire issues a two year warranty for the first retail buyer of the product. If you look for one on eBay which most of them are open box or return products then this warranty may not apply but you should be able to pay only half of the stores price. This heater is so quiet and works rather well that I would definitely get another if I had a need for one at home. I would recommend to anyone wanting to heat a room in their workplace or home.

The heater still works great but will only work in the low heat mode which does not heat office very well … (probably 10×10). The high heat mode will work at first but then shuts off no matter how far away from the wall I have it. I then have to unplug it for 10 minutes to let the heater reset. Will probably be looking for something else.

Last year I gave up on this heater and purchased another which continues to work very well and was certainly affordable. Here is the review on the DeLonghi HS25F Heater.
