Lakewood claims 50 years of experience, but they made a beginner’s mistake on this model: The thermostat is placed next to the heating element, so it is greatly influenced by the heater itself. The thermostat cannot know the current room temperature and therefore cannot maintain it constant.
Also the heater isn’t perfectly silent. It’s quieter than a fan-based model, but it still makes clicking sounds as the intricate arrangement of metallic parts inside shift due to heat.
At least the heat output is good. I don’t understand these reviews claiming that some heaters “heat more” than others. When set to the 1500W setting, this heater will provide 1500 watts of heat, just like any other 1500W model. The energy cannot be dissipated in any other way. Oh and don’t be confused by the “oil filled” part of the name. The oil doesn’t burn, its only purpose is to conduct heat.
