It’s no secret. I do not “do” cold very well. In fact, I am downright snot when I am freezing my tail off. Even though we have gas heat that pumps through the vents of our home, it still seems to draft right through. The front door, the windows, underneath the sinks, the shower, the utility room, the fireplace when not in use….It is any wonder we are not icicles yet! We have 5 different kinds of space heaters/electric heaters in our home, two from the wonderful company DeLonghi which produces high quality and trustworthy products for your home. Our main DeLonghi is an oil based tower heater that heats up our living room/kitchen area/hallway. But there are still other rooms in the home that catch that frosty draft. We have 3 bedrooms, my office, and my husbands work shed that need that extra flame of warmth.

The DeLonghi DFH2550TB Compact Heater is what I use under my desk to give me a little extra heat flow when on my computer, writing epinion reviews and such! It is small, lightweight and portable. This heater heats up very fast and quickly, with a timer and a temperature gage that regulates itself. It will automatically turn off when it senses that it has become too hot, or it senses anything near it (so try to keep your little feet from covering it!). It has two heat flow settings, so you do not have to have it on it’s highest level, allowing the heat to flow longer, instead of hotter for a shorter period of time. You can choose HIGH at 1500 watts or a lower setting of LOW for only 825 watts, which is a big difference. What I usually do, is either warm the room up first before I go in on high and then switch to low, or I will just crank it full blast and then turn it down when I start sweating! For a small model, it seems to reach enough square footage to warm an entire room comfortably. One of the unique features is that it can also be used during the summer months for extra ventilation by having the fan on without the heat!

The only concern I had was that it does overheat often, and I have smelled electricity from time to time when it goes beyond the normal shut off time. I am not sure if it is a defect, or it doesn’t sense the length of time every time it is in use. But I have had to find myself switching it over to LOW from HIGH manually because it feels too hot and smells strange. But then again, I may be over using it!

All in all, it is a nice price, a cute model that works very well! Warms the room quickly!
