We bought a Delonghi Dragon heater last year when our son was 5 months old, and it worked very well, but the surface was extremely hot, so we went looking for another heater. I found this one in Sears, at a comparable price, and bought it. The best thing about this heater is that it has a mesh covering the heating elements about 1 to 2 inches away from the surface. The surface is cool enough that you can touch the heater and feel heat, but it won’t burn you. It heats up very quickly, and is strong enough to heat up a fairly large size bedroom on the lower 500 watt setting. The only drawback is that there is no built in timer, like on the Delonghi.

There are 2 power settings, 500 watt and 1500 watt.

There is a thermostat of sorts. It doesn’t have temperature markings, but is marked with circles that go from smaller to larger. These are used to maintain a certain temperature, but I guess you are meant to go by comfort, not actual temperature. Once the room temperature is comfortable you turn the dial down until the heater turns off, and it tries to maintain that temperature. The heater has casters and is fairly light, so it is easily moved from room to room. It’s actually much lighter than oil filled heaters. It also heats up much more quickly than our oil filled Delonghi (which is now in our master bathroom).

No info yet on how this heater has affected our overall energy bill, but that’s going to be hard to sort out as we have bought several other electric appliances since last year.

Again, we are very pleased with this heater.
