I like this space heater. Compared to the ancient one-direction space heater or the convection space heater sitting in the closet at my mom’s house, this one works very well. It will heat up a room quickly (in less than 15 minutes) - *if* the door is closed. Even opening the door to another room in the house for a few seconds lets in cold air. Although that can be a disadvantage - if you forget it’s on & it’s set to the highest thermostat setting, it will basically never go off, and your room will be way TOO hot. I’ve done that before and my room must be at least 80 degrees, but if you’ve got it up as high as it goes it just doesn’t turn off. If it’s set low to medium, it does cycle on and off and that gets annoying. I turn it low when I go to sleep because I can’t sleep while it’s on. I’m a heavy sleeper once I can get to sleep, so I can’t talk about whether it wakes me up. The cord and unit do get hot, but unless you deliberately hold your hand on it it’s not dangerous - although it might be dangerous around little kids or pets. It is loud, it can be distracting when I’m trying to study. But overall, it’s a very good product. You can switch between surround-heat and directional; I put it in the middle of my room and keep it on surround.

I’ve never tried to clean it (I didn’t know you *could* safely clean a space heater), because I don’t notice any dirt on the outside.
