I live on the West Coast so our winters are not as bad as the rest of the country but we don’t like natural gas bills any more than the rest of you. I have used those little tiny fan blown heaters in the past but they seem so drying that I decided to spend about twice the money ($64) this time around and try a radiant heater. I noticed the Honeywell ones were about 30% more than the DeLonghi or some other no name brands but I liked the look of it as well as the reputation of Honeywell.

The other 2 reviews of this product seemed relatively accurate: It heats an enclosed room or small area well. It has a great digital display which is not overwhelming. Basically there are 3 toggle switches. Push up or down on one to choose the 1500, 900 or 600 watt setting. Use the other toggle to set the desired temperature. And the last switch to set a timer in hours (up to 18 I think?). Techno but simple!

It does have a plastic handle which lets you pull it around. I have a few steps in my house and a second handle or latch on the opposite side might have been nice but I guess that would be asking a bit much. It does have plastic wheels which I saw someone complained about. The cheap look of plastic is one thing which I don’t mind. But contrary to another report, the wheels do not fall off when you lift it off the ground. The instructions clearly state when assembling the wheel base to firmly push them in until you feel and hear them click. Once they are in, they are the type that are never supposed to release. I wonder if the other reviewer did not push them in hard enough or may have had bad luck with a bad design.

I really have no complaints so far but it has only been two weeks. The 5 year warranty is nice but it is one of those things where in 2 to 5 years I really doubt I would take the time to ship this thing off (saving the box and paying for shipping? It’s not a simple priority mail 2 pound box!). But it’s nice to know they stand by their product.
