I needed a space heater and Vornado was recommended to me as it not only heats, but circulates the heated air via a fan. One store had the current digital model and another had the current analog one. Both these models had the thermistor which automatically adjusts based on room temperature.

I spoke to Vornado to ask what the major difference was in functionality beyond accuracy in choosing a desired room temperature. Vornado said that precision in choosing a desired room temperature is the main difference; they are identical otherwise in terms of output and mechanics. The analog also had the capability to let you choose to have the fan run with heat constantly instead of on auto where it will slow and quicken based on the room temp needs ( as well as fan-only with no heat). The digital only has auto-fan with heat (as well as fan-only and no heat).

I decided to try the digital and I discovered the reason why I think it is worth the extra money. The digital show the actual room temp and the desired room temp in the LCD display, alternating with mode. This is great because I can see where the room started and how it is warming up. Since the analog has no display, you would not be able to know how cold the unit thought your room was at any time.

I do not have an opinion yet on heating capability. I have this located where it blows heat on me when I sleep. This has been effective so far. As for the whole room, I will have to add more later.
