Great idea that doesn’t work

Positive It really is attractive.
Cons: It doesn’t work.

If you’ve ever stood in front of a parabolic radiant heater, you know how effective they are. They are also highly efficient, as they heat objects (much like the sun’s rays) rather than air. They utilize a parabola so that heat is directed in a narrow beam toward the object to be heated (i.e. you). This particular heater takes that concept but widens the parabola to a bowl shape in an attempt to provide heat to objects over a much greater area. IT DOESN’T WORK. I live in San Francisco where the temperature is between 55 and 65 degrees much of the year, night and day. A heater like this would be ideal to take the chill off while out on the patio, if it worked. This unit could not even warm up my hands when I held them a foot from the heat source. Too bad. That being said, I returned it and bought their floor model that oscillates and it works perfectly (though it is not really supposed to be used outside).
