WHY THE DIMPLEX COMPACT ELECTRIC FLAME STOVE HEATER?

For the past three winters I’ve had to suffer from being in the living room because of a lack of sufficient heat & warmth. My computers are in this room, so whenever I wanted to go online, I’ve had to just deal with it & get over it.

I’ve been wanting & trying to get one of these units for the the better part of last three winters. From the winter of ‘02 to the winter of ‘04. Every conceivable attempt to get one has gone sour!! If I ordered one online, the website selling it that I tried to get it from, just wouldn’t send it to me, claiming that they don’t have the billing address, but they know where to send the catalog that I’ve have to pay for to get!. Or stores such as Home Depot is either out of stock on it or they carry it, but it’s not available on their website at all!

I think that is so blasted stupid for them to do that! Anyway, I happened to notice that one of the Dimplex units had a review written on it here. That review had started to again renew my research for one of these units. The company’s website has them on display, but they don’t sell them directly to the consumer. However, they DO have links to stores that sell them in your area via your zip code. Then I began to search & scour the Web for one, hoping that I’d find SOMEONE who sells the units.

Every place that I tried lead to a dead end! Things had again began to look very bleak! Slim & none. Then I decided to try the stores online, such as Sears, Kmart, Target and Walmart. I struck gold! I found out that Walmart.com has them in stock for immediate purchasing. So I went with Walmart while the units there were available.

WHAT SETS THE DIMPLEX COMPACT ELECTRIC FLAME STOVE HEATER

APART FROM OTHER HEATERS?

Well, in the past, I’ve bought & used two small portable electric heaters. I already had an electric radiator-style heater as well. The radiator heater gets hot, but it just didn’t quite seem to do the trick in the living room. So I put that one in the bedroom where it works fine, since that room is very small.

The other two heaters just didn’t work for the living room. This room was always cold & drafty during the most brutally cold winter days & nights, even with the new windows that were put in. The windows help, but the room just didn’t feel warm at all! And the small heaters just weren’t powerful enough at all, which still made the living room feel almost like a deep freezer!

Actually, the landlord had bought one of these units for his living room three winters ago. Ha had the windows replaced also. He recommended that I get one also. That sparked my desire to try to get one for myself!

This unit features a powerful but quite fan to circulate gentle toasty-warm air throughout the room. The simulated

fire and ” burning logs ” give you the relaxing feeling that you are in front of a warm glowing small fireplace!

The unit forces & directs downward heated air from a component underneath right across the floor. Since the floor is usually the coldest area in a room anyway, this unit not only warms the room, but the floor as well. I’m feeling the difference already! No more cold & clammy living room to have to deal with any more during the winter!

Come home on a cold winter day, turn the unit on, place your cold feet in front of the unit and watch how fast they

get toasty-warm and comfortable! This is total relaxing warm massaging comfort!!

WHAT WERE THE DECIDING FACTORS THAT MOST INFLUENCED THE PURCHASE OF THIS UNIT?

The fact that the landlord is extremely happy with his unit plus the fact that a review was written here on a unit from a very satisfied owner has most influenced me to get one of these. I’m so glad that I made the right choice!

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES & FEATURES OF THIS PRODUCT?

The advantages & features are many!

1. All controls for unit are located on the back in the upper right-hand corner.

2. They are as follows:

A Main on/off switch.

B Heater on/off switch.

C Heater thermostat control.

NOTE: When the heater is switched ON, the heater fan will operate. The heater element may or may not be on, depending on the thermostat setting.

3. Simulated fire display reflects against back mirror-like wall. Gives you the warm relaxing feeling of being in front a warm glowing small fireplace.

4. Simulated logs also give the illusion of wood burning & glowing.

5. Motorized mechanism drives simulated flame display.

6. Two small Christmas-tree-style bulbs light up the wood burning display.

7. Cabinet ( including legs ) is completely made of metal with a semi-gloss black onyx finish color to give the illusion of a cast iron wood burning stove.

8. Unit directs downward-firing fan-forced heat across the floor where it is most needed.

9. Heating element has automatic overload protection to help eliminated the danger of overheating & fires. Just turn the unit off, wait five minutes and turn it back on. Heating element will automatically kick back in.

10. Super quiet powerful operation. You have to put your ears close to the unit to know that the fan is on!

11. Simple instruction manual gives instructions in English, Spanish & French.

12. Light bulbs can easily be changed by removing log display.

13. One full year warranty on all parts ( light bulbs not covered ).

14. No ventilation needed!

ARE THERE ANY SHORTCOMINGS AT ALL?

None to date.

IN SHORT:

Overall, I’d say that this unit is really great! It quickly warms up a room in practically no time flat!The warm glow and charm of this unit also blends well with any room decor.

FINAL THOUGHTS?

Yes! If you’re sick of having to deal with small dinky little portable heaters that just won’t warm up a room enough to shake the cold winters in your house, this is the unit to get! It’s quiet, powerful and does the job nicely!

WHERE TO BUY THEM?

I’d say Home Depot is supposed to have them in stock, but they never seem to! Lowe’s might have them. I didn’t check them. Walmart.com has them in stock for sure. That was the first place I found one, so I took the initiative and jumped on it right away, as I was NOT going to miss the opportunity to get one again!! Three failed tries over the last three winters was more than I could stand. This was not happening again!
